West Virginia Division of Tourism stops advertising on Rated A for Adult G4TV show after receiving emails from Florida Family Association supporters

Florida Family Association sent out an email alert on January 5, 2011 which encouraged supporters to send emails to the CEOs and Marketing VPs of companies that advertised on the show Rated A for Adult.

West Virginia Division of Tourism stops advertising on Rated A for Adult G4TV show after receiving emails from Florida Family Association supporters

Rated A for Adult is a television program that features adult videos, toys and porn actors.

Sadly, this show airs at 11 PM on the G4TV channel which is watched by tens of thousands of teenagers and children who tune in for video game programs.  G4TV means Games for television.

The following email exchange took place between Florida Family Association and the West Virginia Division of Tourism after FFA launched the email alert regarding advertisements on the show Rated A for Adult:

Dear Mrs. Carver,

Thank you for your reply.

May I assume that your response means that WV will continue to advertise during Rated A for Adult?

Dear Mr. Canton,

This is an acknowledgement that we have received your e-mail expressing concerns about tourism advertising on G4TV.  Thank you.

The mission of the West Virginia Division of Tourism is to promote and present the diversity of activities, events and attractions that make visiting our state a unique and memorable experience for all.

You should know that the West Virginia Division of Tourism shares your concerns and will actively look into the placement of a tourism advertising spot within programming on this cable channel.

Thank you again for contacting us.

Sincerely,
Betty B. Carver

Please feel free to send an email thanking Betty Carver for taking action to stop advertising during this program.  Her email address Betty.B.Carver@wv.gov

Florida Family Association places a priority on monitoring shows which target our children with explicitly immoral content.  Rated A for Adult is one of those shows.  In most cases including this one, Florida Family Association is the only pro-family organization that contacts advertisers.
