Penn Live reports Army War College postpones appearance of controversial author with anti-Islam history.   June 11, 2019 6:34 AM

Florida Family Association sent out an alert on Monday, June 10, 2019 at 11:45 PM titled CAIR demands that US Army War College drop author Raymond Ibrahim who writes extensively about Islamists who kill Christians around the world.   The alert encouraged people to send emails after CAIR demanded that the US Army War College drop author Raymond Ibrahim from its lecture series.

UNFORTUNATELY, it appears that US Army War College officials made the decision to “postpone” Raymond Ibrahim’s lecture before they would have arrived at their offices and received emails from people who support Mr. Ibrahim.   The Penn Live report was posted at 6:34 am on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 and Florida Family Association’s email alert was launched on Monday, June 10, 2019 at 11:45 pm.

The Penn Live report states in part:

In a written statement to PennLive, Army War College spokeswoman Carol Kerr wrote:

“The U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center sponsors Perspectives in Military History: an evening public education program which draws a community audience that can include USAWC students. The presentation of Mr. Raymond Ibrahim’s book is postponed so USAHEC can pair Mr. Ibrahim’s military history insights in close proximity with another historical perspective, at a time when the USAWC curriculum has addressed historical analysis of influences on conflict.”

Ibrahim and his works have been widely excoriated for their negative portrayal of Islam. Muslim groups, including the Council on American-Islamic Relations, charge that the author spreads falsehoods about Islam and portrays the religion as a violent faith intent on destroying Christianity.

Ibrahim had been scheduled to speak about his most recent book, “Sword and Scimitar: Fourteen Centuries of War between Islam and the West,” at the prestigious 50th Annual Lecture Series.

Ahmet Selim Tekelioglu, the outreach and education director for CAIR-Philadelphia, said Ibrahim in his books and talks promotes a sensational and negative portrayal of Islam. He said Ibrahim espouses the view that Islam historically has promoted violence towards the West and Christianity.

“That is factually incorrect,” Tekelioglu said. “It creates anti-Muslim racism. It is a narrow opinion. The very fact that he is going to speak to officers, men and women, who will potentially serve in Muslim countriess … that is problematic.”  Read more at Pennlive.com

It clearly appears that the US Army War College has “cancelled” NOT “postponed” Raymond Ibrahim.  CAIR complained and Mr. Ibrahim is removed from the lecture.  That is cancelled.  Censoring the truth about Islamist activities dumbs down the men and women in America’s armed forces in a manner that could jeopardize national security and public safety.

It is outrageous that the US Army War College has succumbed to CAIR’s demand to cancel Raymond Ibrahim from its lecture series.  The US Army War College has essentially given Sharia’s prohibition of criticism of Islam a priority over the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America.  The college has made CAIR’s Islamist political agenda the priority over national security and public safety.

Additionally, the US Army College has broken its word and its honor with the highly honored Raymond Ibrahim in order to accommodate the demands of Hamas linked, Muslim Brotherhood linked and terror linked CAIR.  This is truly dishonorable and disgraceful.
