Florida Family Association’s monitoring efforts and contact with advertisers influences VH1 to stop airing transgender programming to an audience which includes millions of teens and children.

The popular music channel VH1 which is watched by millions of teenagers and children has discontinued airing two shows that promoted the transgender lifestyle.
It appears that Florida Family Association’s persistent communications with advertisers influenced VH1 to stop airing RuPaul’s Drag Race Show and TRANSform Me.
RuPaul’s Drag Race has not aired since April 2011.
Florida Family Association contacted every company that advertised during its airing in February, March and April 2011. The show was scheduled on TVGuide.com to air numerous times (including May 3rd at 7 and 8 pm , May 4th 12 am) but did not air and was pulled from the channel after that time. Florida Family Association contacted advertisers in 2010 resulting in a similar response by VH1 to withdrawal the program.
RuPaul’s Drag Race show is described by TVGuide.com as: “Drag queens compete in weekly challenges in an elimination contest hosted by the noted drag performer and featuring celebrity judges. The winner is crowned ‘The Next Superstar Drag Queen of the World.’” This transvestite program shows these men in various stages of dress with modified breasts and other objectionable content.
TRANSform Me has not aired since May 2010.
Florida Family Association contacted every company that advertised during its airing in April and May 2010. FFA waited to make sure a new season of this program was not produced during the same time in 2011 before reporting that the show had stopped airing.
TRANSForm Me is self described as “a makeover show in which a team of three transgender women, led by the inimitable Laverne Cox , rescues women from personal style purgatory. Laverne and her ultra-glam partners in crime have undergone the ultimate transformation (transgender change), so they're the perfect women for the job.” This program clearly attempted to normalize the transgender lifestyle.
VH1 is NOT currently airing nor has it aired in recent months transgender propaganda oriented shows. This is good news since VH1 is an unrestricted, advertiser supported channel just like FX, USA, CNN etc. Any child with a remote was able to tune into these shows which normalize transvestism.
Florida Family Association influenced the MTV network channel Centric to discontinue airing RuPaul’s Drag Race Show in 2010. The program has not aired since that time on Centric.
Florida Family Association places a priority on monitoring shows which target children with homosexual propaganda and explicitly immoral content. RuPaul's Drag Race and TRANSform Me aired on the VH1 network watched by millions of teenagers and children.
