Reputation.com continued to advertise on Al Jazeera America after receiving thousands of emails from people who read Florida Family Association’s July 22, 2013 email alert and web posting. Reputation.com's mission is to “make people and businesses look their best on the Internet.”
Is it Reputation.com’s goal to solicit and defend companies that may receive negative online postings regarding their advertising on Al Jazeera America? Are they hoping to make money defending the reputation of those who support this channel which is owned by Islamist extremists?
Florida Family Association has not seen ads for Reputation.com on other channels.
So why else would Reputation.com, a company with the mission of making people and businesses look their best on the Internet, knowingly continue to advertise on one of the most controversial channels in America?
Florida Family Association sent emails on June 6, 2013, June 20, 2013 and July 8, 2013 to Reputation.com's CEO and President regarding their advertisements on Al Jazeera America. These emails in part stated "Companies that continue to support this pro-Jihad, anti-Semitic channel with their advertising dollars will be reported at Floridafamily.org and numerous activist web sites in the near future."
Why would a company with this mission continue to knowingly advertise on one of the most controversial channels in America thereby risking their own online reputation?
Approximately ONE HUNDRED ONE (101) companies have stopped advertising so far on this channel.
Al Jazeera, the Arabic news cable channel headquartered in the Middle East (Doha, Qatar), purchased the CurrentTV channel which has the potential of reaching millions of viewers in the United States. Al Jazeera is a mouthpiece for radical Islamists. Al Jazeera America is the new, tentative name for CurrentTV. Florida Family Association continues to communicate with KIA and the other two remaining large companies that advertise on Al Jazeera America.
Reputation.com certainly has the right to choose where they use their advertising dollars. You have the same right to object and inform others about Reputation.com's advertising support for Al Jazeera. Florida Family Association has prepared an email for you to send to five Reputation.com officials.
