The focus of this email alert is just as much about confronting Senator Joni Ernst’s politically inappropriate competitive response to Pete Hegseth’s nomination as it is to supporting his nomination.

Independent.co.uk published a report on Friday, December 6th at 8:45 PM titled: Trump aides suggest Iowa Senator may try to sink Hegseth nomination so she can get the job: report.  The article states in part: Donald Trump’s aides have suggested that Iowa Senator Joni Ernst may be trying to sink the nomination of Pete Hegseth as defense secretary so that she can get the job instead. 

Yahoo News published a report on December 4th titled:  Ron DeSantis, Joni Ernst potential Trump defense secretary nominees if Hegseth drops out: Sources. 

Fox News published a report on Sunday December 8, 2024 titled: 'Political price to pay': Trump orbit expected to ramp up Ernst criticisms while she withholds Hegseth support.   The article states in part:

President-elect Donald Trump’s allies are expected to ramp up criticisms against Republican Iowa Sen. Joni Ernst as she stalls on offering support to Trump’s secretary of defense pick, Pete Hegseth. 

"It's really this simple: If you oppose President Trump's nominees, you oppose the Trump agenda and there will be a political price to pay for that. We are well aware that there are certain establishment Senators trying to tank the President's nominees to make him look weak and damage him politically, and we're just not going to allow that to happen," a top Trump ally told Fox News Digital.

Politico reports that Senator Ernst may meet with Pete Hegseth this week.

It is politically unhealthy and irresponsible for the selfish ambition of one senator to hinder the conservative agenda of the most popularly elected president of our times.   It is truly egregious that Senator Ernst believes that her personal ambitions are more important than the agenda of President Elect Donald Trump

Florida Family Association has prepared an email for you to send to Senator Ernst’s chief of staff to express concern regarding her reported hindrance of one of Donald Trump’s cabinet nominations.  No official senate email address was found for Senator Ernst using normal research tools.

Please send the email prepared below regardless of any new reports surrounding Senator Ernst’s position regarding Donald Trump’s nomination of Pete Hegseth for Defense Secretary.  She needs to know that this type of shenanigan is politically unhealthy and selfishly irresponsible.
