The Department of Government Efficiency (Doge) is finding billions of US taxpayer dollars that are being squandered every day.
You would think that every taxpayer, whether on the left or right side of the political spectrum, would not honestly be satisfied with the waste, fraud and incompetence that Doge is revealing regarding Treasury expenditures.
However, progressives are falsely attacking Elon Musk for championing a crucial operation to bolster the financial and national security for every American.
For example Doge just released the following mind numbing report that 12,383,110 people categorized with ages past 120 years old are receiving monthly Social Security checks (that average $1,780):
• 3,472,849 people aged 120-129 years old receiving Social Security benefits
• 3,936,311 people aged 130-139 years old receiving Social Security benefits
• 3,542,044 people aged 140-149 years old receiving Social Security benefits
• 1,345,083 people aged 150-159 years old receiving Social Security benefits
• 121,807 people aged 160-169 years old receiving Social Security benefits
• 6,087 people aged 170-179 years old receiving Social Security benefits
• 695 people aged 180-189 years old receiving Social Security benefits
• 448 people aged 190-199 years old receiving Social Security benefits
• 879 people aged 200-209 years old receiving Social Security benefits
• 866 people aged 210-219 years old receiving Social Security benefits
• 1,039 people aged 220-229 years old receiving Social Security benefits
• 1 person aged 240-249 years old receiving Social Security benefits
• 1 person aged 360-369 years old receiving Social Security benefits
Then along comes Fatima Hussein, a Palestinian Muslim reporter, who writes an article for the Associated Press titled: Tens of millions of dead people aren’t getting Social Security checks, despite Trump and Musk claims.
The only information that Hussein provided in her article to contest Doge’s report were:
• Inspector General or “Social Security inspector general” findings under Biden administration.
• “Part of the confusion comes from Social Security’s software system based on the COBOL programming language, which has a lack of date type. This means that some entries with missing or incomplete birthdates will default to a reference point of more than 150 years ago.”
Response to Hussein’s first point: Who can realistically rely on reports prepared by the Inspector General or “Social Security inspector general” under the Biden administration?
Response to Hussein's second point: This COBOL explanation is not documented. Additionally, why would there be THIRTEEN age range defaults for non-entry of birthdates? Why would the system read erroneous data in thirteen different ways” Why not one default for all errors? Even if her hypothetical COBOL explanation has merits it still means there are 12,383,110 people with erroneous documentation who are receiving billions of dollars from Social Security.
Additionally, some progressive media are falsely claiming that Social Security Acting Commissioner Michelle King resigned in protest over Doge getting access to Social Security data. The TRUTH is she was replaced before she resigned and refused to allow Doge to have access to Social Security data. This CBS News report states in part: “King was replaced by Leland Dudek, who oversaw the SSA fraud investigation office, and then she resigned, according to the official.”
