The Times of Israel published an article titled “Islam-centered neighborhood plan draws backlash from Texas governor, locals.”  The article reports in part:

A proposed development project by a local Muslim community in Texas — envisioning a neighborhood with a mosque and school at its center “that brings Islam to the forefront” — has drawn fervent condemnation by the US state’s governor, Greg Abbott, and fears of “Shariah law,” which the project’s leaders say are unfounded.

A promotional video linked to in the article announces: “EPIC City is more than a neighborhood. It’s a way of life, a meticulously designed community that brings Islam to the forefront.”  EPIC stands form East Plano Islamic Center.

The video details the single-family homes, apartment blocks, parks, sports fields and commercial centers planned for the development, all against the soundtrack of traditional Muslim nasheed, a form of a capella music that dwells on religious themes.

“Our community is designed to foster a sense of belonging and inclusivity for all residents, regardless of their background,” the voiceover notes.  “We are committed to creating a welcoming environment where all residents can live together in harmony.”

Texas Governor Abbott condemned the proposal in late February, declaring on social media: “To be clear, Shariah law is not allowed in Texas. Nor are Shariah cities.”

Imam Nadim Bashir, a Florida and Texas native who leads the EPIC mosque, told The New York Times that Abbott had created “unnecessary fear,” based on misunderstandings about Sharia, the Muslim legal code governing both personal conduct and, in specific theoretical conditions, that of the society.

“It’s a personal moral code of life, that’s all it is,” Bashir said. “Standing up for people, serving people, taking care of your family, being honest, this is all part of Shariah.”

The imam insisted there was no effort to impose Islamic law on others. Referring to the governor, Bashir said: “Why is he making up things which we have never, ever said? We will always work within the laws of the United States and the State of Texas.”

The above reported statement that “Imam Nadim Bashir … leads the EPIC mosque” must of have been derived from the deceitful New York Times because the EPIC website postures Dr. Yasir Qadhi at the top, an indication that Qadhi is the leader and not Bashir.

It is telling that EPIC had Imam Nadim Bashir speak for the development when Dr. Yasir Qadhi is listed as the top leader of the EPIC website.  Perhaps EPIC believes that Imam Bashir is less controversial than Dr. Yasir Qadhi who said “Jews and Christians are filthy, their lives and their property can be taken in Jihad by the Muslims.”

Qadhi has publicly declared that:

• Democracy is illegitimate: “No Supreme Court, no system of government, no democracy where they vote… What gives you the right to prohibit something or allow something?”
• Any legal system outside Sharia is disbelief: “To believe that it is permissible to follow a system of laws other than the Sharia negates one’s testimony of Islam.”
• Rejecting full Sharia is rejecting Allah: “To compartmentalize Islam… shows that you really don’t believe in Islam, you don’t believe in Allah.”
• Apostates: He declares that believing in any law other than Sharia negates one’s Islam, effectively labeling Muslims who accept democracy as apostates.
• He has previously asserted that a true Muslim cannot be neutral about Islam—he must either accept it or reject it and become an enemy.

What's more, Qadhi has:

• Called Christians “filthy polytheists” and that their lives and property “hold no value” in jihad
• Hijacked Christ: Reducing the Son of God to a mouthpiece for Muhammad
• Denied the Holocaust
• Said democracy is inferior to Sharia
• Justified killing of apostates and homosexuals under Islamic law
• Defended the Taliban and promoted jihad-aligned ideologies
• Held fundraisers for terrorist Aafia Siddiqui, jailed for trying to kill U.S. soldiers.

Based upon the above proclamations and statements it is fairly clear that EPIC leaders are very likely to enforce Sharia law in the new Muslim township that EPIC is organizing.  To think otherwise would require one to totally ignore the dangerous proclamations and statements that Dr. Qadhi has made regarding Muslim dominion, Muslim rule, Sharia enforcement and disregard for American values and the rights afforded all Americans by the United States Constitution.  Additionally, it would require ignoring the fact that Sharia law is Islam and Islam is Sharia law.  They are one and the same.  Muslims operate under the dictate of Sharia law.

Many of the tenets of Sharia law are antithetical to the rights afforded under the United States Constitution.  Sharia law deprives women, apostate Muslims and infidels of many of the legal protections that are otherwise afforded them under the United States Constitution.  Additionally, Sharia law calls for cruel and unjust punishments, fatwas, honor killings, genital mutilations, discrimination, religious persecution and a host of other unconstitutional tenets.

If a Muslim township enforces tenets of Sharia law that conflict with the United States Constitution it violates America’s highest law.
