Jihadwatch.org published an article titled: Illinois: Imam invokes Muhammad’s example to justify hostility toward Jews today based upon a report published by The Middle East Media Research Institute. The Middle East Media Research Institute report states in part:
Imam Mazhar Mahmood of the Islamic Foundation of Peoria, IL, said in his August 8, 2025 Friday sermon that "alleged" Muslims suggest building "political situations" with the Zionists for the sake of stability, and he asked whether Muslims have "stooped so low." He prayed for Allah to liberate the Al-Aqsa Mosque from the "filth of the plundering Jews." Mahmood urged Muslims to understand their legacy and learn why the Prophet Muhammad expelled the Jews from Medina, telling a narrative from early Islamic days, of Jews harassing a Muslim woman.
Mahmood, originally from Toronto, Canada, is also president of Peoria for Palestine. On his website, he claims to be "active in the interfaith community".
Mazhar Mahmood: "Does anyone know why the Prophet kicked out the Jews from Medina – namely, Banu Qaynuqa – by their inception? Read history, my friends, understand what our legacy is.

"So, of course, the Jews detested this – that a woman dressing like the Muslims is present in their society.
