On January 29, 2026, Congressman Chip Roy (R-TX-21) and Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) introduced the SAVE America Act—a new and improved version of their widely supported SAVE Act. The SAVE America Act adds a Voter ID requirement for voting in federal elections while maintaining the original bill’s proof-of-citizenship requirement for voter registration.  This came after US Senate Majority Leader John Thune announced his support for moving the SAVE Act to vote.

US Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer announced that "SAVE America Act is dead on arrival in the US Senate because not one Democrat will vote for it.”  Read his press statement.  

IF Democrat US Senators continue to oppose passage of the SAVE America Act and there are no other legislative options then GOP US Senators must abolish the filibuster rule to pass the legislation.  The filibuster rule requires 60 votes to approve legislation in the US Senate.  If the filibuster rule were abolished then only 51 votes would be needed to approve legislation.  The 53 GOP US Senators could pass the SAVE America Act and many other conservative bills.  

What is more important to protect the sanctity of United States elections from foreign invaders and fraudsters and enact other important conservative legislation or prevent Democrats from advancing their agenda when they’re not even in power?  Ironically, allowing Democrats to kill the SAVE America Act is empowering their leftist ideology.  Furthermore, Democrats have already said they plan to abolish the filibuster rule if they gain control of the US Senate. 

Keeping the filibuster rule is not worth giving up on enacting federal law to prevent foreign invaders and fraudsters from voting for America’s governmental leadership.

If GOP US Senators are unwilling to abolish the filibuster in order to pass the SAVE America Act and other important conservative legislation then they need to at least take a full senate vote in order to put Democrat US Senators on record as supporting foreign invaders’ and fraudsters’ ability to vote and wrongfully impact the outcome of America’s elections.

IT IS CRUCIAL that we continue to urge GOP Senators to make sure that the full US Senate votes on  the SAVE America Act well before midterm elections on November 3, 2026.  

Law abiding, conservative and MAGA voters will be very disappointed if the SAVE America Act is not moved for a full Senate vote well before midterm elections.  If the full US Senate fails to vote on this important legislation it will hurt voter turnout and how these electors vote on November 3, 2026.
