Four Senate Republicans that blocked Save America Act amendment need to hear from you as Speaker Johnson considers adding it to House version of budget resolution.

See emails prepared below to send to the four Senate Republicans who voted against SAVE America Act.

Four Senate Republicans—Sens. Susan Collins (R-Maine), Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), and Thom Tillis (R-N.C.)—joined all present Democrats to vote against an amendment aimed at adding the core elements of the SAVE America Act to a budget resolution.

The amendment, proposed by Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.), would have instructed the Senate Rules Committee to attach provisions of the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act to an immigration and federal funding budget reconciliation package. These provisions included requiring proof of U.S. citizenship to vote in federal elections, mandating a photo ID, and mandating that all ballots be counted within 36 hours of Election Day.

The amendment was defeated by a vote of (48-50) during a marathon session of Senate voting. Proponents of the legislation, such as Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah), had previously acknowledged that passing these changes via budget reconciliation could be challenging under Byrd Rule constraints, as reconciliation generally prohibits sweeping policy changes with only tangential budgetary impact.

House Speaker Mike Johnson said on Fox News on May 30, 2026 that the US House is considering adding the Save America Act to the house version of the budget resolution that would require 51 Senate votes, not 60, to approve.  This is a long shot but it must be covered with email support if it happens.

Florida Family Association has prepared an email for you to send to the Chief of Staff for US Senators Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Mitch McConnell and Thom Tillis to urge the senators to vote to support the SAVE America Act in all future legislation.
