Twenty six states have enacted laws that prohibit companies from doing business with those states if the companies or vendors support Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions of Israel. The Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement (also known as BDS) is a global campaign promoting various forms of boycott against Israel until it meets the conditions of the Palestinian BDS National Committee.
The Council on American Islamic Relations “sued the Pflugerville Independent School District on behalf of Texas teacher Bahia Amawi whose contract was terminated when she refused to sign a pledge that she would not participate in economic boycotts of Israel.” There are other plaintiffs in this case represented by other legal groups.
The plaintiffs’ decision not to sign the pledge aligns them with a request by a foreign country to impose a boycott against a country that is friendly to the United States and important to our national security. Since BDS of Israel aligns itself with and is supported by Hamas, a terrorist organization that routinely strikes Israel, the plaintiffs are supporting a terror linked campaign.
The Center for Security Policy issued a report titled “C.A.I.R. IS HAMAS: How the Federal Government Proved that the Council on American Islamic Relations is a Front for Terrorism.” So CAIR’s lawsuits to support BDS of Israel by attacking laws that prohibit relations with it is in line with “CAIR is Hamas.”
The plaintiffs filed a motion with U.S. District Judge Robert Pitman for a temporary injunction to prevent enforcement of Texas House Bill 89, which prohibits companies who contract with the State of Texas from supporting economic boycotts of Israel.
